Default help with motor swap - 302 for 302

We are swapping the 302 out of an 88 F-150 with automatic overdrive into a 91 f-150 with electric overdrive.

motor and trans turn freely until bolted together. we have pulled them back apart to double check that the torque converter was installed correctly, and to the best of our knowledge it is.

we have also swapped the flywheels out, which appear to be identical.

does anyone know why this would be binding up?
will check back, or call:

989-708-9482

Thanks!
-Nate

Im not a ford guy so im going for the generic answer.look at the hub on the convertor, and the end of the crank, will it fit in there? Pilot bushing of some sort?you spun the convertor both directions and felt it drop back when you installed it?

After completely pulling the transmission from the truck we found that the torque converter was not installed correctly, the truck is back up and running. Thanks!
