If you go zipper, make the entire window zip in so when they are scratched to shit you can just change the window instead of the entire thing including fabric. Basically take a jeep soft upper and make the zipper go all the way around the window instead of being sewn to the fabric. Easier to roll up and store that way also.

Maybe consider Velcro if zippers are an issue.

Not sure about the Velcro. I do like the idea of removing the entire window section thou.

My experience is that velcro and snow/ice don't mix. I had soft doors, and it was nice to be able to zip a portion of the window open for venting, or you could make smokers vent windows like 70s pickups.

I would prefer zippers but it occurred to me that an odd shape may make zippers hard to do or expensive.

heavy duty buttons? like for a truck cap? won't get full of dirt and mud like velcro, no problems with zipper routing (thanks oldfart, i mean, WR).

Buttons would tear off(hopefully) if they hit a branch. or tried to tear... put them on the inside. You can keep a pattern to make replacements if need be.

I like the different suggestions but I will shy away from buttons and snaps. I have a call into a local shop for an estimate.

What about scrapping this idea and going with a rollup window?

I had zipper windows on my old buggy I liked them but at times they are a pain. but I also had that as my entry area not a framed in door like you have. I also had Velcro and snaps in other spots of the top and never again to both. the velcro gets full of crap and catches your shirt every time you lean on it...lol the snaps never want to snap or hold after a few trips and they get mud and crap in them. Not to mention the first time you rub a rock or tree where a snap is (or velcro) they are done.

I would not do a roll up window although it would be cool... but a lot of work...

An idea I have had for windows on my new buggy is a dual panel slide window you could easily do it in the frame you have?

Or just skin what you have and put zipper windows in. I like the door frame you got going on!!!

When you get it figured out I'll probably steal the idea for my Rhino.

A variation of this would be like the old Mopar super stockers in the 60's on a diet. Lexan on the window tracks and a strap on it. Pull it up the buckle it. Window up, unbuckle and it goes down.
