I prepped and primed Friday

Painted the chassis hammered black Saturday

Just got done putting on the final coat this morning.

Looking for opinions at this point. I need to paint my sway bar and arms still. I was thinking hammered red??? However it might look crappy next to the red coils. Also should I leave the two light bars in the rear alum or painted?

Sway bars - Hammered gray
Light panels - Black. It will blend with the chassis.

Looks good. Now you just have to figure out how it goes back together.

Looks Nice, I would leave the two light bars in the rear alum and swaybar i would paint hammer silver.

I do like the silver/grey idea. It would look nice with the alum.

I prefer metal tones, so I think a nice silver or grey hammer would look nice and sleek. Let the colored parts stay colored, and leave the aluminum. I think it will all look nice with the black.

Looking sexy, I wish I had the time, ambition, monies, skills, tools, and space to build something like this.

What brand hammer black did you go with?

I painted my bumper with rustolum hammered black and it rusted inside of the dimples, even with primer underneath it. I was disappointed that I had to repaint something a week after I just finished it. I would hate to see your entire chassis end up like that, especially after you already put it back together.

You might be fine with just the hammered, because I doubt your chassis is going to see the water and road salt that my front bumper went through.

But if you don't have it back together I would recommend a top coat of a traditional paint. That way you will still have the hammered look but it wont rust through on you.

I would defiantly do the clear just to be safe.

BTW the buggy looks really nice, top notch fab work all around. I can't wait to see it finished.

My biggest clear coat concern is when I have to do touch up if it will blend in as good.

Why not polish the alum light bars? Just a nice finishing touch on this pimp rig.

I do not recommend this...one I think it would look tacky, two the up keep to keep it shiny is not worth it. I do like the plain alum look though
