Default The new Whip!

So I picked up this at work and I couldn't resist the deal I got on it. 2006 Landrover Lr3se. Man is this thing sweet! It needs a control arm I already ordered for it. I'm just looking for wheels and tires for it at the moment. It has adjustable ride hight, lockers 3 sun roofs rear heated seats. I love hitting the switch and slamming it to the ground or tapping it and raising it 4.5" for offroad mode.

You got a deal on a Rover.

That only means the engine, trans or electrical system will soon fail

Looks Good though

That was already checked out! Believe me I was worried. It had an electrical issue so they sent it to the rover dealer and they did a full check up and fixed everything system wise.

I think every Disco I have ever seen has had a blown head gasket, V8's included, but I dont know about the LR3's. I was just joking about it though, I actually really want a Rover. It would be a perfect rig for what I would use it for.

I have one, lots of hard miles (2006 130,000miles) as the wife drives it like a maniac, havent wheeled it much but its been a pretty good vehicle a few little electrical hicups (heat and cold related). I have a couple sensor issuse that pop up every now and then but i really dont do much to it other than change the oil and fix a few things but thats it.

need to replace a ride height sensor currently, mechanical and electrical parts havent been to expensive when needing to be replaced and besides hiding the conections for all the sensors its easy to work on.

Trim, body, lights and such are hard to come by used and expensive to get new, so if you wheel it a tail light could cost as much as $400 just for the housing.

I never planed anything hardcore but two track and getting out hunting, have crawled up a few steep loose inclines with no problems, I have never drive a vehicle that felt so secure on loose/uneven ground.

I only wanted to let you know that some parts are more expensive than those same parts on other vehicles. I broke a tail light randomly over night in my drive way locked behind a fence and it cost me $450 for the tail light housing.

I don't know anything about them but I chuckle at your raising it 4.5" for offroad use with stock tires. Have you really had it off road besides your driveway?

I would have never bought on for myself but I made the mistake of letting the wife pick out anything she wanted with in our budget, this is what we got. We payed as much for our as an explorer with the same milage and year fully loaded so I figured our deal was ok. I have grown to like ours and its been one of the best vehicles for my wife, great for her to get where she wants, we go up north with it a lot, and never worry about her in any weather or road condition.

For the suspension height its nice being independent on all four corners and full skids, getting in ruts or deep snow its nice getting it up in the air 4.5 inches and still being able to drop a tire even farther in to holes.

When we first got our I started looking in to what it could do off road and they take these things everywhere around the world in stock form and they get thru everything.

I am sure I will get shot for this here but the LR3 or LR4 will out wheel any jeep in stock to stock compare and very few people are moding LR3/4's so there is no reason to compare them to what you can build a jeep in to. If you dont believe what they can do off road just google it for yourself.

with independant suspension at all 4 corners the 4.5" lift does increase ground clearance.

I don't think anyone is claiming the 4.5" lift let's it run backdoor.

Dont worry about Hancho, he is just showing his jealousy. The reverse mortgage situation has really got him down.

Yeah, one independent that opens and two that are part of the glass roof. The boss drove this for 5k had an electrical issue fixed at a LR dealer. I saw how much we had into it and made them an offer and got it for that. I love it, rides amazing. Only things I might do is "Johnson Rods" they give it another 2.5" of lift in all modes. I'll try squeezing 33s on nice wheels under it. Possibly a hidden winch if I can. Sure it's nothing like my rubicon but it rides way better and will do what I want no problem. I got a service plan too so I'm not too concerned. I'm not worried about hancho, his opinion isn't worth anything to me. I did my research on it and on the line; that said I'm comfortable with my purchase :)
