For those interested, Snyder will be on Talk of The Nation on NPR today. The program started at 2:00 p.m. and is available online at http://MichiganRadio.org. He is scheduled to go on in just a few minutes (sorry for the late notice).

He is going to make Michigan a resort for the rich.

Gov. Snyder’s fiscal 2012 state budget will decimate the family-sustaining jobs of police officers, firefighters, teachers and other public employees. Snyder has greatly increased the deficit by granting business a $1.8 billion tax cut with no new jobs guaranteed. In fact, the governor’s budget is a job-killer since it will put hundreds of public employees out of work and diminish the spending power of middle and low-income wage earners.

The Snyder budget fails miserably as a moral document with its tax increases on low- and middle-income wage-earners and its tax cuts for the wealthy. The working poor would lose their Earned Income Tax Credit, thrusting more children into poverty. The elderly would see their pensions taxed, putting many at the margins of society. There is no “shared sacrifice” in Snyder’s plan. It is not the “New Deal” or the “Fair Deal,” but the “Raw Deal.”

Snyder has delivered to his political base and picked the budget winners — the rich and businesses. Cities, schools, low- and middle-income workers and retirees are the losers.

As much as the Public employees (which I am one of) is a hot button thing to complain about.......It has to happen. It should have happened along time ago. Snyder is a Business man. He sees where money is hemraging from and takes care of it. That's why we voted him in. It will be tough, especially for those most effected, but I think that it will be worth it once MI comes out on top in a few years. There is no easy fix for this and it will end this way either way. We might as well not let it drag on and suck any money left out of the State.

All this is going to do is separate the rich from the working class even more. Yes the middle class are ones hemraging, and yes he is a rich business man who will stop the middle class. How about tax hikes on the wealthy? And WE did not vote for him, YOU may have. I will wait, and while I wait, I will hope and pray that he does well by all Michiganders, even though I did not vote for him, I respect the process and will give him a chance.

I can only hope he destroys the teachers unions.

As for the rest of your talking point cut & paste, you do not understand economics.
Thank god it's not the "New Deal" which did nothing but prolong the depression. As admitted by FDR's economic advisor.

The tax cut for business is a good thing. But the fact you say "with no guarantee of new jobs" just shows ignorance. Typical union mentality of wanting a guaranteed job. Too funny.

The rest isn't worth the effort. bla bla bla.

Yes tax the wealthy even more!!

That's the goal of the wealthy, destroy the middle class. The same class needed to create wealth.

I never said the worker was to blame.
I also agree 100% that the "bankers" or hedge fund managers that destroyed many of the pension funds should be locked up. None were.

AIG, Goldman Sachs, did huge damage to our economy. They should be stoned to death.

The super wealthy have the lowest tax rate in the history of the nation, other than a brief moment when even Reagan realized the folly of Voodoo Economics and jacked it back up a bit.
There is no incentive to hire when you get to keep everything up front, you don't need to shelter income from taxes. Speculation and bubble economies form, the current one being a commodities.
I wish I was in the investment class, so I could just sit by the pool and get taxed 15%
How's that job creation by the upper crust been doing since Bush started?

The typical liberal / democrat wants any one who makes "more" or is successful to be penilized. It absolutely does not matter if he was to donate every thing he has to the betterment of society, they would conceive that he has worked out a devient plan to become more successful, by giving every thing away and should be killed.

One of the things that facinate me is the mis understanding of the fact that the rich pay the vast majority of the tax in the US and that 53% of the population pay NONE

Please reference chart at the IRS web site, last page
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf

The 15% you are referencing above is for people making 45,550 or less.

It is easy to verify facts with the internet, try it, it's easy.

Rich people pay 35 plus percent.

This "super wealthy" class you speak of is so damn small it hardly matters. You could take every dime they have and it would do nothing.

Reagan was right on the money with his tax breaks. Where Reagan fell short was dealing with the Dem. party. He caved like all the rest. He did not force spending cuts enough.
Revenue went way up during Reagan, but the government just spent more.

As for the bubbles that our economy goes through, sorry it wont change. We have always had them and always will. It's the policies in place at the time that will determine how hard and how long they last.
Your socialistic dream world that stops all the bubbles and creates fairness for all doesn't exist. Never has worked, never will. It's already been tried over and over again.

Don't use Bush as an example with me to justify conservatism. He was far from it.

This is no socialist dream.
To hell with it, eliminate unions, create your Politburo and privatize the commons too.
What better way to "create wealth" than monopolize the water.
Better yet, consign this to the life's too short category. Sayanara
