Default Winch Lines, Extensions & Recovery Ropes

Check out www.krissplicing.com. My main goal is to serve the Great Lakes region with locally made products. I offer Amsteel Blue Winch ropes for ATV's and vehicles. I can get any size you want but standard sizes will be 3/16 for ATV's, 5/16 and 3/8 for vehicles. 3/4 and up recovery ropes along with other misc. splicing projects. I am working on getting hooks and tube thimbles as well as other lines for winches.

I can make any length line you want so dont hesitate to ask.

Im also proud and excited to announce the Rope Shackle. Measures 8" end to end. I can make them longer as well.

I just got the test results back on this... It will carry an 8,000 pound WLL which is on par with the majority of 3/8 or 10mm sling hooks currently being used by other companies. Load tested to 20,000 and 25,000 pounds with no signs of slipping or breaking. Failure occured at 34,100 pounds at the base of the knot. If anyone is interested I can post a scan of the certificate. These can be used in place of a D shackle in most instances. There are 2 situations where I dont reccomend this. The 1st is a definite no-no... And that would be on an anchor point that has sharp or 90 degree edges. This needs a smooth radius otherwise it will fail. The 2nd is in a dynamic pull. While I believe it will hold up to its failure rating in a dynamic pull, I only had it tested in a static pull. So if you use it in a dynamic situation I can not and will not guarantee it to its rated limits.

Some of you may have seen the thread I started in the misc. forum...

Synthetic Winch Lines and Recovery ropes - Great Lakes 4x4. The largest offroad forum in the Midwest

Figured it was time to step up and be able to post in the vendor forum.

Let me also add... I dont keep much in the way of Amsteel on hand. So get ahold of me prior to placing an order. It takes about 1 week to get materials from the vendor. That will change slowly as I get an inventory built up.

I got some hooks in.. Captive eye hook on the left will add $25 to the price. Half link hook on the right will add $40 to the price. WLL of 7100 pounds with a 4:1 saftey margin. Should have a few powder coated tube thimbles in the next few days.

Standard length of 8" end to end or roughly 16" circumference is $30 shipped for one, $55 shipped for 2. Shipped USPS Priority. Right now Ive only got enough line for 1... But I forsee needing to order more materials probably tomorrow.

I need to get a new scale, but 2 of them together should come in well under 1 pound.

I got in some ATV sized hooks. 2500WLL with breaking point of 10,000. Size comparison next to a typical 3/8 hook youd find on a vehicle winch line...

I just got in some SS tube thimbles to try out. These are a little pricey at $45 additional to the price of a winch line. But they have some added benefits.

A) No rust or corrosion.
B) You can get the ear of a 3/4" shackle through it
C) I believe it will not go through a fairlead. I still need to verify that.

Onto some pics...

I can and have....

But I dont stock the safety thimble. Since Im not a Viking dealer I do not get any special pricing on them. What customers have done is purchase the safety thimble and ship it to me. This is about the lowest cost Ive been able to find them and usually where my customers order them from...

I am also now working on tow ropes. These are polyester and are for static pulls. Available in 3/4" only right now with a tensile rating of 22,000 pounds. Pricing is about the same as my 3/4" recovery ropes.
