Exclamation ***SOLD***1992 Chrysler New Yorker/Fifth Ave $1,200***SOLD***

SOLD

I've got this 92 Chrysler Fifth Avenue that I'd like to sell/trade. Details are as follows....

$1,200
Mileage: 102,XXX
Drivetrain: 3.3L V6 - 4 Speed Automatic
Options: Power Windows, locks, mirrors, 6-way driver seat, rear defroster, heated mirrors, cruise, air conditioning, among more that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Good: As close to rust free as possible for a Michigan car, Low miles for the year, newwer trans (have receipts), new heater core (~3K miles), newwer snow tires (~7K), Interior is 9 out of 10 (dash starting to warp)

Bad: Typical mid 90's paint peel (I started sanding/priming some of the bad areas but can only work on it as weather permits so it's half done right now), cruise currently not working (havent taken the time to diagnose), Landau top is shot, Coil spring buckets repaired/replaced on beam axle (VERY common problem on these cars), I think that pretty much covers it.

I got this car for next to nothing and spent a better part of an entire day cleaning the interior. (PO has a dog that he took EVERYWHERE)

It has a 7" Flip out DVD Player in it right now but I could throw in a stock radio or a cheaper aftermarket in it pending the offer. Also have 2 sets of wheels/tires for it. 16" Aluminum wheels from a late 90's Subaru Impreza (front tires are decent, rears are bald in the center from over inflation. and 14" Stel wheels with snow tires (one has a slow leak, another got a nail in it and was replaced with a mismatched snow tire)

I would keep this around for a DD/beater but being that I ride BMX I don't want to trash the interior throwing my bike in the backseat.

Possible trades:
Cherokee
Grand Wagoneer
Chevy K1500
94+ Ram 1500
Pre 88 or 93+ F150/Bronco
Ranger/S10/Dakota

This is the perfect dd/winter beater/first car/or whatever. Gets 19 city 25 highway (Have the original window sticker)

he says its as rust free as possible. just be sure to triple check this car over from top to bottom. especially hidden spots where rust likes to collect.

Generally the rockers go, and the floorboards (particularly around the poorly designed e-brake exit), but all and all, they aren't known for being rustbuckets. These have the "refresh" cladding that hides alot of nastyness. Loose whats left of the L-roof, some satin black, car might work for somebody more that a beater...or not?

yeah well, i bought a car from him a while a back, and i wasnt gonna be able to get out there till late at night. i asked him 50 times about the rust, before i got there, and he swore it was only a bit on the rockers.

so i went looked it over in the dark in his garage, and bought it.

get it home, and a friend of mine showed me his post on another forum, where he was whining and crying, and posted pictures of the rear shock towers completely rotted out to the point it wasnt safe for the road. he had pulled back the carpet in the trunk, and covered the holes with roofing tar so you wouldnt notice it.

when i asked him why he lied about the rust, he pretty much said, tough shit. not my issue. he went through a lot of trouble to hide the rust.

Actually I never did shit to the shock towers. I didn't try to "hide" the rust with roofing tar.

Ohh, I get it now, not about New Yorkers/5ths, but the seller.

I could say something about buying a car in the dark, but I got burned on a wrangler with a rotting frame they rattlecaned, and even in the day couldn't tell, so yeah, seller integrity counts.

Actually, you can't simply remove the landau roof, there's like a 2 inch gap between the body and the window and landau cars, versus the non-landau cars having a plain window edge.

Nice ride. It is unfortunate about the landau top and paint. I sold my 92 Fifth to a friend of mine and we are still friends and he is still driving it.

I think mine had 160k at the time of the sell.

I put on newer tires and rims

Replaced..........
alternator
plugs and wires
belt
hoses
corroded wires to the fuse box
radio
rear wheel bearings
rear shocks(got regular because the ride height assist were $300 each)
all engine and trans gaskets(leaking severely)
timing chain and gears
both idler pulleys
paint(whole paint job through macco $1200)

What finally made me sell it..........

front wheel bearings
front lower ball joints
struts
bushing for sway bar
(all that in itself was about $600 for just parts)

Since my friend bought mine..........

Rear trac bar broke from body(he still drives it anyways)
He broke the power antenna through a car wash
I think he took out a couple of old ladies and shopping cart.
He is still driving it.

Good luck on the sell. That is neat the amount of mileage that is on that car.
