Default 96 orvis

Been building this for a few years now figured i'd share. Bought more than a few parts from GL4X4 members. Thanks for the deals
Engine: 280HP/340FT-LB 1998 4.0L stroked to 4.6L, 1978 258c.i 12 weight crank, rods. SEAL POWER pistons, rings and a balanced rotating assembly.
Camshaft: COMP cam X4250H-13, comp lifters 822-12
Timing chain: Coyle’s true double roller
Cylinder Head: 1994 H.O casting # 7120 complete 5angle valve job and bowl blend.
All work done by http://www.moderncylinderhead.com/ Mopar Springs, Seals and Retainers were used with the stock rocker arms and pushrods.
Injection: 24# ford injectors,2001 4.0L intake Port matched and 62mm throttle body made by http://www.jeepersandcreepers.com/me...a/IMG_1038.JPG
ECU: Tuned by http://www.bgchrysler.com/ A must for a stroker.
Ignition: Stock, one step colder champion plugs
Cooling: 3 core radiator, 195* stat, FLOW KOOLER water pump, Lebaron hood vents and HAYDEN remote oil cooler.
Trans: Stock 42re with cooler.
Transfer case: NP249 swap to a NV242.
Axles: 3.73’s HP30 front and a 44HD rear. (Temporarily open)
Brakes: 4 wheel disc with ABS and RUBICON S.S brake lines.
Steering: Stock with a BDS stabilizer.
Suspension: 4.5” lift with long arms and RUSTY’s adjustable track bar in the front, 4 adjustable short arms and JKS adjustable track bar in the rear, Shocks BDS all four corners and JKS bar& pin eliminators and upper eye mounts up front.
Electrical: 200amp alternator, dual batteries, 150amp isolator, 1800watt power inverter and a 120V outlet.
Sound system: Pioneer voice navigation, 7” LCD/DVD in dash(modified), Super tuner mounted on passenger side floor and Alpine’s all around.
Recovery: ARB front bumper with a WARN M8000 winch and a Kennesaw Mountain rear bumper with D-rings.
S.F.R custom mod’s: Roof rack with 4 HID 6K watt offroad lights and a storage box for all the necessary tools and stuff.

I like it, once i work out all bugs it's been a great engine it now has 30k miles on it and only had one major problem. I lost one lobe on the first COMP cam @ 15k miles my fault i had to much preload on the lifter.

You are correct rick,Here's the production numbers

1995- 10,020
1996- 2,341 only 200 or less with 4.0
1997- 2,733

They came from the factory with a DANA 44HD or DANA 35 which are both weaker than the standard DANA 44. Mine came with the 35 but started making some bad noise. So i made a quick change to a 44hd (wish i would have just put a 8.8 in).

No,the 8.8 is FORD rear end.you need to transfer all the zj brackets (coil pads, upper,lower control arm and track bar) on to it after the ford brackets are removed. thin get the flange adapter for the drive shaft

Should have cut out the stock rockers and put the sliders in their place, they're just gonna rot out and u would get a little clearance.
