Default Side X side Mud Drags, July 9th Scottville MI

Gauging interest for a JULY 9th 2011 side by side mud drag race. I was approached by a local promoter and asked to seek and provide some information. I recommended a minimum of 180' run and the same rules as Dads/Jasons as most will be built to suit those standards. The track will consist of 2"-6" of Scottville clay with a little top soil mixed in for good measure. This man wants to make this happen and is known for large pay outs at all his derby/figure eight events. How about some input fellas?

Thanks for the offer, I have checked Dads, Jasons and Moms and I see no conflict of dates. We will be following your rules closely but, Most of the locals here like to run cuts, I know many from your area have them but it seems they are soon becoming looked down upon and alot of places now run them in the mod or mostly open class. The locals want to run them from pro street down, Do you think this would cause anyone to not want to run?

yes your better off keeping the cuts in mod and open classes i think it will make for a better turn out in the long run and make things feel more fare to competitors.

I think run them from pro street down! I think that we are going to be suprized how small the pro street class is going to be. I think that there will be alot of the stock 35 and under and mostly mod if the cuts get put into that class. On which way you decide i would Follow Racin Jasons classes for the tire sizes. That is more common among all of the runs.

The class rules are mostly all the same use what you guys think will fit for tire classes I'm experimenting this year it may not work everywhere.

I think if you let cuts run w/ 38.5 and down your gonna hurt your class size. People that don't have cut don't like running people that have them. I personally wouldn't want to run against them because I'd fall in the pro-stock class. I 35" boggers and a bbc, probably wouldn't stand a chance. But where i run our class breaks are different from Racing Jasons.
