Default School me on Power Steering

I am converting manual steer to power. The steering box will be from a 69-75 c10. When looking for brackets and pumps I see long nose, short nose, saginaw etc. I need a pump that will fit a mid 80's SBC and have standard fittings. Any ideas on what I should be looking for?

Any suggeastions appreciated.

Well, you need to determine what style water pump & accessories you have. On the SBCs, there's short and long, which is how far they physically stick out from the front of the engine.

short and long:

Saginaw steering just usually refers to the normal 'jeep' style steering box..

Based on the pic id definately say its the long one. Do different years have short and long pumps or are both available for all years?

while your at it why not convert to a 87-up style serpentine setup? the fittings on the P/S pumps are pretty common so getting lines shouldn't be an issue.
