Sorry I haven't updated in a month or so. I'm presently spread a little thin, I'm trying to finish the deck that I'm building.

Its an issue of working backwards in time. I really want to have a pole barn built before winter. However, I can't do that until I finish my deck, which, in a complicated story, I did not pull permits for.

So, working to finish the deck now and some international travel for work, and then in a few weeks I'll be back onto the Jeep.

Its very close to being started. Needs:

Starter
tightening bolts
fluids
install the radiator (its all put together, but I had to cut out the old broke body mount on the grill)
ECU mount and wire a couple last wires
battery
air intake plumbing
shifter

Hopefully it'll fire up sometime in August and be able to make a wheeling trip in Oct or Nov...

The pics with my deuce were from last year, then my wife spent most of the summer in the hospital, and I had my 5 and 2 yr olds at home. Between that and a GM plant shutdown, I wasn't able to work on the deck last year after July, so I'm rushing to finish it now.

The deuce was awesome for taking to home depot, buying 5000lbs of lumber, and then backing up through the mud to bring it to the perfect level for working.

What is this thingy called? I need to make some changes to my upper hose and I think this will work well. I have been searching Jegs and can't seem to locate it. Thanks.

Called a transitional hose tee.

You get them from "Jags That Run"

OK, well, still no updates. But, the deck is done as of yesterday, so I'll be cleaning all of the woodworking stuff out of the garage and back on the Jeep. I gotta finish because I want to start on a different Jeep, and this one is in the way, lol....

Here's the deck, though. I had to finish it, or it would hav ebeen ruined. The framing was up all winter without decking, and was starting to get warped, needed to put it all together to keep it straight. Came out good, IMO (its what I used to do, building decks, way back when). I built it lighting, two 20 amp circuits, a gas line for the BBQ, and a built in hidden 40w amp, with a input to plug in your mp3 player.

Damn, I'm not sure what I'm more impressed by, the Jeep or the deck! Nice work on both counts.

Looks great, nice work! I like the built-in counter space near the grill, and the matching gate. (I had to add gates when the kids came along and they don't look as well integrated as yours).

I'll start this week cleaning all the woodworkig stuff out of the garage, and then dust off the list. From what I remember, I am very close to starting the motor.

I need to install a fill tube/dipstick on the trans, bolt down the torque converter, install the radiator, install the battery, finish the power steering return line, do fluid fills, and it should be able to start.

Then I need to finish the brakes, finish the exhaust, install the shifter, button up the wiring and interior, and it should be driving.

Well, folks. Stop me if you've heard this before:

Life has changed. This project is getting parted out. See something here you like, it just might be for sale.

The fuel system, wiring, dash, radiator, those are coming with me.

The engine, trans, t-case are available for the right price.

The rolling Jeep chassis (body, frame, Dana 44s with discs and lockers, hard top, hard doors, rocker guards, corner guards, seats, stock CJ dash, tailgate, etc) is available..

Downsizing to a smaller XJ that matches our off-road needs.

I am keeping some of these components for a different LS swap into a different veihcle.
