Default 95 lost keys need to remove Ignition cylinder

i lost the key to my 95 suburban. i need to replace the ignition cylinder but the procedure requires you have the key so i dont know what to do. and the locksmiths in the area wont touch it because of the airbag or i would have it rekeyed.

3 locksmiths say they have to be certified to touch it if it has a airbag. the other 3 need the lock cylinder out to rekey it

if its the factory lock then just go to a dealer for a new key cut to the vin. you will need the title in hand for proof of ownership

Also if the door key is the same as the ignition key then just pull that cylinder and take it in to a lock smith.

Just replace the column. But I think a locksmith can make a key with just the ignition cylinder. You might have to have the truck towed to there shop.

gonna try to get the cylinder out tomorrow and either have it rekeyed or get a new cylinder with key
if that doesn't work probably going with a new column

If you can get the cylinder out just go to autozone and buy a new one, they are cheap and come with a key.
