The government thinks it is thier job to care for the citizens. And the only way to do that is to tax the crap out of us, do a poor job at it and keep the rest for themselves.
Public service should on a volunter basis, 2 to 4 year terms then get back to work.

...

If Illinois needs to raise their taxes to meet the budgetary needs who am I to question. Also not that they are raising it from a level somewhat less than ours to only slightly more. I also laugh at the Wisconsin Governor saying anything, considering that Wisconsin's tax is over 50% higher than Illinois new tax rate.

Who are you to question it? You are a citizen. That is enough.

A 66% increase??? Are you kidding? How about cut spending? Gut politicians pay and benifits?

Nevermind, you are right screwing the people is a much better option.

I'm not a resident of Illinois. It's up to the people of Illinois to decide if they want higher taxes or less services. Either way someone will feel like their getting screwed.

So we cannot have opinions of what goes on anywhere but where we live?

I am sure the majority of people in Illinois didnt want their taxes to go from $2,000 to $3,320 before politicians lowered their pay. I bet the latter neve crossed the table.

Yes, we can have opinions. My opinion is that it's none of my business since I don't live in Illinios.

Thats fine. My opinion is that we need to be more careful to watch everything the government does even if it isnt in our back yard. Once something becomes the norm in one place it is easier to make it the norm in another.

What, are you an idiot.
Why would you care about another state or even an other country.

You talk like you think people will start saying stupid shit like, Hey look at Canada's shitty health care system, we should have one like that eh.

LMFAO

The top personal rate in Wisconsin is 7.75 percent, for example, and Iowa's is 8.98 percent. Indiana and Michigan will have lower rates, however 3.4 percent and 4.35 percent.
