Another forum member asked us how we planned on removing the valve covers for valve adjustments...Here is the latest.

The pictures below show a removable cross member that will allow us to lower the motor in the jeep to remove the valve covers etc with out pulling the motor. We're hoping to have this cross member in place by Thursday. Should have more updates by then.

The engine cross member has been welded into the frame, and we were able to get the dash installed to see how much room there really was to work with. There is obviously a lot less room under there than there used to be but it looks like we should be able to keep this looking very clean once everything is boxed in.

We also got our clutch master cylinder from South Bend, and they are going to be installing it shortly as well. We want to make sure there is still lots of room for the pedals etc.

Here are a few pictures of the progress made under the hood:

Awesome idea with the crossmember! It looks terrific, also I think it's so cool you guys are keeping it a manual transmission. Getting to row through the gears in that jeep will be an experience for sure!

We had a few more parts show up this week, and the work continues on getting the body ready for the motor and suspension. We are currently working on the new cage, and will be fabricating the rear section out of heavy gauge 2" tubing. The roll cage and roof rack tube diameter will both be the same outer diameter to give it a uniform look.

We received a bunch of stuff from BD Power this past week...ARP studs, Killer dowl pin, 60hp injectors, delivery valve kit, and a number 5 fuel plate and we will be working on the motor over the next few weeks. Turbo's should be on their way shortly as well...

Big thanks to Autometer for stepping up with all the gauges required to monitor everything going on with the Cummins.

We have also got the Atlas 2 speed transfer case...

A few pictures of the progress:

Work on the cage is going well, and it is beginning to take shape. The reinforcement will help make this Jeep as safe as possible, while still maintaining clearance under the hard top.

The Pitbull Rocker 44" tires also came in today. Can't wait to see them stuffed under the body for a teaser pic. Big thanks goes out to the guys at Pitbull... Tires are 44/19.5/20. With the wide and aggressive tread pattern these tires should perform well in most trail conditions and some street driving as well.

The turbo's came in this week, as well as the power tank. BD Diesel has stepped up with a set of compound turbo's that are really going to give us the added boost in performance we're expecting out of this 12 valve. The 3 piece manifold will also help minimize any heat deflection or issues that surround the factory manifolds on the cummins engines...

The power tank will be mounted to the rear section of the new cage once it's complete. Here's a few pictures:
