I have a complete 4.2 from a 1983 that you can have for $100. No idea what a 12 counter weight is.

Ive changed my mind after alot of reading.....Everyone says go with the 12 cw crank because it will give you better low rpm power and more torgue....That really doesnt sound like it will fit my driving style.....I want a 4cw crank now....

Which from what i have read that should be a 81.5 to 90 4.2s

ideal one is 87-90 out of a YJ. Anyone have one of those laying around?

Dmc....I have no way of transporting a entire engine is my only concern. Plus do you know for sure that none of the bearing surfaces are destroyed? If you pull the crank and rods out and everything looks good then ill give you 100 bucks and you can keep the rest of the stuff.....(i know your prob not interested in that but i just thought i would offer)

I guess as long as I know for sure that you are going to buy it I would be willing to pull it apart. It is not a big deal taking it apart I was just being lazy. I will gaurantee that the bearing surfaces are good. I know it was a good running motor before it was pulled.

no offense but the last engine i bought was supose to be a good running engine and when i tore it apart i found metal everywhere and half a pistion in the oil pan. Which is kinda another reason i dont want to buy an entire engine.

Can you get the block casting numbers so i can verify this is the crank and rods i want?

Could i come get it friday afternoon sometime? (If the numbers end up being right of course)

No offense taken. I do give money back when that shit happens though. I will try and remember to get them nubers tomorrow. Not sure that I can have it apart by Fri but will see what I can do.

Did you happen to get that casting number?
The numbers on the block should be
3235444
Then the crank casting number should be
3235477

If those match the numbers on it then i want it....

It would be almost a 7 hour trip to come get it. If you where 2 hours away I'd come get it but that's to far for me
