You need to do more research, if you're going to use this story as an example of atheists trying to remove religious stuff from public property. It's funny, the article doesn't even mention who brought the lawsuit against the cross at Mount Soledad. Seeing most of the things that you post, I guess, it was natural for you to assume it was a group of atheists, but in fact it wasn't. It was your religious brothers, a Jewish veteran group.

Now post some comment about liberals being godless/stupid and post up another thread.

For the most part of it, it is athiests that are trying to remove anything that resembles God from society, and not just public property any palce they see something about religion, I'm sure they get mad and wish they could do more. Like you Mike, but one day you will see judgment like the resr of us and if you don't make peace with your creator before that time.... welll you know what we believe happens then.

As far as posting more stuff about liberals being godless Its out there just waiting for me to find it and post it. Be patient.

Nope, many atheist just want to remove religous stuff from public property, since in many cases, it's unconstitutional.

I'm so surprised that you didn't concede that it was stupid to post up an article about what a jewish group was doing and then start to rail against atheists.

Yeah... I suggest you google Pat Tillman. The whole "there's no atheists in foxholes" saying is a myth.

Honestly i say whatever places already have religious statues or symbols should be able to keep them and just from here on out public places should become neutral ground. People of faith have a right to believe and people who are not of faith have the right to not have to see religion everywhere they go. There are too many religions out there in our country, so no matter what if we allow religious symbols in public places, somebody or group is going to be offended. So keep it neutral and nobody is offended

Back to my original question, If athiests do not believe in God then why the big deal about religious symbols, the cross, Christmas and anything else that resembles Christ?
If you don't believe, then leave it alone. It can't hurt you, right? Or if you don't do anything to promote there is no God and your views then maybe there will be more people who will believe in God and your numbers will diminish. no more athiests.
See i think you and other athiests can't stand that other people don't beleive the same as you so it is an attempt to silence the People who believe in God by removing God from society.

As for your comment about athiests in fox holes, ask a vet. Don;t trust yourself to come up with something from an athiests blog.

There will never be a shortage of people to get offended over something. Take Mike for example, he gets offended by something he does not believe in. Go figure that out.

It is not pushing anything down anyones throat if they willingly join the conversation. You chose to open a thread with a religious title, and then accuse someone of shoving something down your throat? You could have avoided this topic or his beliefs by staying out of the thread.

I don't see how a symbol of a personal grave or Honorary place can be unconstitutional. The person(s) being honored there had a right to thier religion. Why not the right to show what that was when they are gone?

Also, Do you suggest we remove our history? Make it "Constitutional"? The Pilgrims founded this country for..........the land? the shopping malls? the fast food? Or to Further the kingdom of God? It's not just a matter of removing symbols. They want to change history to match what "they think is best" for our children. I say the only thing our kids need is the truth. Let's let them REALLY make the choice for them selves.

I don't have a problem with religious symbols, on private property. I don't agree with them on public property because it represents showing favoritism/ endorsement of one religion over others. I thin k you knew the answer to that, why did even ask?

Another part of our nation's history is the idea of keeping church/state separate (I know you hate Thomas Jefferson's ideas on this). If you allow one religion's symbol, you must allow everyone's. Rather than do that, it is in my opinion that keeping it neutral is a better setup.

I don't buy it. Public or private property.
What does it matter to athiets if they don't believe in God?
Maybe they just need to mind your own business.
