my plans r to take dana 44 knuckles and ford flat tops for the steering. For tubes i am using sa105 grad b 3 1/4 od 1/2 in wall tubing and i have a currie hi9 for the center not sure if i am going to use it ,might make and oiling system for the stock one not sure what gears ..

That's wild, JBCustoms in Constantine is building a 9" front for a customer with a TJ. Small world.

Why D44 knuckles? I never understood this because its typically a step backwards.

Not really.

Swap a D44 in now and build the 609 a little at a time IMHO. Building a front 9 from scratch is PITA enough... do it right the first time.

What are you doing for front shafts? What spline count?

I would agree to try to find a way to use 60 outers.

the shafts that i am useing are 97 d60 iner and superduty outer out of an 01 i am using the mono bearing for easy access the spline count is 35 on the iner 60
