What kinda parts cleaner are you talking about? Just a standard one? Probably be easier just to replace the solvent

Yeah, I can see that it's not cheap, but I dont think theres really any way to clean the stuff without pouring it through a filter - you could try to skim stuff off of it after it sets as well...

What are you trying to get out of it? Just the little grit and what not? I guess I'm asking because there could be other stuff in it as well - oil etc.

Dont have any idea how much crystal kleen charges, but thats who changes our stuff out at the shop back home...

see if you can get some stoddard solvent as waste from a dry cleaner. its what almost all parts washers use and its alot less expensive then kerosine.
if you can't find a source that way you can BUY stoddard solvent as "Enamal reducer" at any place that sells paint supplies, its about $2 a gallon

I've looked everywhere online, and can't find a good side to side rating for different cleaners

I don't think you will, most things are rated as solvents, but its not anything you or I could get hold of. the ratings are based on absorbtion like acids

jjusta thought, check the ohsa site and see if they have the exposer limits of the products your looking for , the absorbtion limits should be listed with them

How about those battery operated kerosene pumps?? Use one of those and run the kerosene through a filter.
