Default Mattracks - anybody seen them?

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I need to know if anyone knows where there may be a vehicle equipped with Mattracks tracks. I know there are some in Michigan, but need to see/talk to an owner. This has to do with state snowmobile trail grooming. I have talked with the company and have all the info there I need, but I'd like to see one. Any info would be appreciated.

I've seen a few full-size rigs with them and there was a japanese work truck at the dog party this year sporting them. Also try four wheeler magazine as there was an H2 with them a few issues ago, good luck.

As for the tracks, I remember a bout a year ago seeing a tread about them... with a video... I will try to find it for ya.

I know a guy who has them on his Polaris 500. He is really happy with them. He mainly uses them in the snow. He pulled a fully loaded F-250 with an 18' enclosed trailer that was stuck in the snow.

http://www.atvtracks.net/

heres a site that sells every brand of traks for ATVs. they should have more info on the bigger ones if you call and ask.

secondly why are you looking at this kind of system for grooming? theres good used groomers out there cheaper then a fullsize set of mattracks.

check out www.sciencehilldrifters.com for grooming stuff.

I'm doing a little investigating for the state. I am the grant sponsor for a club in SW Mich. All state trails are run by private clubs with grants from the snowmobile program, which is funded solely from registrations and trails permits. As with everything else, the programs are hurting for $$$ so we're looking for alternative means. Groomers (tractors or tracked vehicles with drags) now cost between $150K and $200K. If we can get the job done with a $33k set of tracks and a $40k diesel truck, that's something we need to look into. As for good used groomers, they are for sale for a reason. The upkeep is tremendus (I know, we have two right now) and if they are for sale, it's because the repairs outweigh the cost of a new groomer.

Not quite whe we are looking for. A typical LaCross drag that we use is 8' wide and about 20' long and weighs around 2,000 pounds.

Thanks for the info though! Still would like to locate a Mattracks equipped truck.

thanks for the links. However, anything that gets purchased by the program has to be new. Used stuff just isn't worth the money.

thanks again!

Check with a Kubota tractor dealer or track down the MI sales rep. They have a smaller tractor now available with tracks.
As of the AG EXPO at MSU it was the same Rep that I had when I was a Kubota Mechanic in the early 90's He is a pretty good guy.

I have seen one they are impressive. The unit has been built in Japan for a while now so it has a proven track record. I can't remember the list price he told me but I think it is well under $100,000. I am thinking $40,000-$60,000

I used to work for a mattracks dealer. He is located in Bridgman, he does not really sell to many of these any more but I think he can still get them. The demand around here was not too good. There is a guy that has a few sets of these on trucks on the other side of the state. We tryed to reopen a small section of trail around bridgman a few years back with the intenions of using them on a diesel suburban to pull the groomer drag. Needless to say it almost impossable to reopen snomobile trails that have been closed. But the flotation was awsome- They would truly go where no wheeled vehicle could.
PM me I can get you his phone #.
