to have a badass arm you need a keyed knuckle to go with it.

Who sells a good set of arms at a reasonable price? I don't need "badass" top of the line, but dont want crap either. Are the ballistic arms still decent? Any other suggestions?

I made my own recently. i am looking at making more too. i prefer the key, but i came up with a way that i can use the stock knuckle and have a positive way to "Key" the arm. I don't like using just the bolts.Scares me.This way i came up with a way that uses a way to use you stock casting ( with very minimal grinding) and have the benefit of the "key".

They are nearly identical in design and function to the Ballistic Arms. I've always had great service from Parts Mike as well.

And you could always DIY your own upgrade to make them similar to the Artec arms.

Looks like a set of the ballistic double shears will be heading my way.

Are ARP studs still the way to go?

Yes, defiently go with studs. Are you using aftermarket knuckles aswell?

if your using full hydro.you need a keyed knuckle or something like bjeepers is doing or it is easy to break the studs off.have watched it happen many times.that is the cause of a lot of the older ford knuckles to crack and break.

A keyed shock knuckle will not be any stronger then a non keyed one. The material the knuckle is made out of is far more important then its mounting. The Ford casting is well known for its weakness and stress cracking. Now you can dress up a stock knuckle with a gusset kit, studs and keying it but after all that time and work it still wont match an aftermarket knuckle.

I like Crane's & Solid Axles keyed knuckles as they are a little more stronger then the Reid knuckles I bought, however being keyed requires you to have to run their high steer arms unless you wanna do some machining.

my extreme billet knuckle is a piece of art work.no worries about breaking those.

i don't disagree skooter. welding a brace kit or anything else on a stock knuckle is just asking for trouble.i thought about it when i found mine cracked.then jimmy pulled out a billet one and it was a no brainer.
