I am looking a buying a 77 ford and the guy said that it has PTO and that is rare in these old trucks? First not to sound completely stupid but what is PTO do? and is this a rare option in these old fords?

Power Take Off (PTO) is a accessory drive unit that will power a shaft drive device (winch, pump, ect). The PTO is usually driven by a manual transmission or a transfer case in that vintage truck.
Not a real rare aftermarket add on.
