This is all TBI friendly...supposedly lol, I know that TBI can be super finicky so.... heres to good luck with that! NOW:I need to focus on axles, gear ratios and tires... More than likely I am going to go with a 14bolt rear end and a 60 front... Rear will be converted to discs...no ands, ifs or buts about it XD as of now, I am thinking 5.13's in the axles, prolly just weld the rear BUT I would like a locker in the front (possibly detroit??) and I would like some ideas on the front aspect of a locker. I am looking for a good 36" tire that does well in the dirt, that digs and grips, not digs and dies in a hole lol. As well, is there anyway to upgrade the steering on this to make it tighter and more responsive? Also, I would like a 4" to 6" lift on this beast, something soft and flexible? Has anyone done a longarm on the front of one of these? If so, pics and/or links to a page would be great!!! I am trying to think out of the box, I want something that not many people do BUT is effecient and gets the job done reliably. Thanks to all who throw in the input!!!!

If this is a play only toy lock the front and be done. If not then go selectable and rethink the welding of the rear and go selectable there as well.

For tires most will prolly agree that boggers are the King of dig and if not remove the short lugs and they will be.

The steering isnt all bad unless you have worn out components dbl check all steering parts REENFORCE the frame around the steering box (may be cracked already). remember This is a blazer not an xj, they are taller and heavier.

If you want soft and flexy (but not really outside the box) go with Alcan springs, though this may not help the steering issues because if you go reeeeal soft the blazer will lean in corners

Thanks for the input, the steering is an overall issue as it turns out. Pretty much everything on this beast is worn right out steering wise, so when I swap axles, everything else will be replaced as well, including steering colum, shafts and joints. The frame is still solid, there are no cracks or weird wear on the frame. I am going to strengthen that this weekend. I am trying to have all of this done by the time the Schuss Snow Challenge rolls around. I work at shanty and am going to be representing :D The motor is done, but I ended up selling it to the guy who built it lol and have recently found a 78 454 BBC that I am going to put in it. Thats going to get edelbrock performer intake, truck avenger 770 with MSD HEI ignition and high volume oil pump. Should be a decent runner when done. If this isn't done by then, I picked up another rig I may run as well...and thats going to be in the forum as well, Scavenger, will be the name of that rig post.

If your going to wheel it hard pull the body off and box the frame. Mine is in shambles.

That is my plan! Body is coming off anyway for a resto, and actually if I can get my hand on a heavier frame that I can shorten a bit, i might just do that instead. We will see when the time comes :D Thanks for the heads up though!!
