Default electrical/charging problem?

84 Ranger with a 302 carb v8. Brand new alternator, battery, cables, and push button starter switch. The truck will fire right up in the cold. Let it warm up fully and shut it off. Go to start it and it acts as if the battery is very low on juice. It will hardly have enough cranking amps to turn the engine over...but let it sit overnight then go to start it next day it will fire right up and the engine turns over at a good pace. What could be wrong?

heat.

something is expanding after it warms up. most likely a bad connection at the block. I would say its not unlikely you have a corroded joint or loose greasy joint that is opening up after it warms. also painted surfaces don't carry current, scrape them to clean metal where ever a cable connects. if you have any use star washers that dig into the connection to guarantee its stability
