K I am thinking a 5 hour lap course. Start backwards on Stuffer across to UnderTaker onto python then to Big Ugly. Turn up side trail to Pack a Lunch Backwards up stump hill down the south hill threw the trail to the gravel pit and DOWN winch hill, Back to the start and on to lap 2. BAJA start. Rigs start in a selected draw, First rig leaves at Noon then 3 minutes later the next, You have 5 hours to complete as many laps as you can SAFELY . So if you leave at noon you must finish your last lap at 5pm or previous lap is counted if you leave at 12;03 you must finish by 5;03 and so on for each rig. Pass when you can SAFELY. and pit stops for fuel and such will be set up in safe areas, Like at end of stuffer before undertaker, open area at stump hill and the gravel pit.
Thoughts???

Also as for the other stuff. There is No Park competing here. Just offering plenty to do and a varsity. As for the style of this event , There was post and talk of doing a run like this Middle last summer at R&V . it was mentioned and ask about, I responded that it would be best to do in the fall when things were slower due to having to close the park to other traffic to make it safe. We didnt get to doing it, TT came up with a run and it turned out very well. I still had a idea to do one just needing to find the right time when other things were not going on. I would hope if this is another form of wheeling that is desired than all the parks should hold one that wont conflict with other such events. Some events will over lap and manager should place event types to not draw from each other . Example :: It say TT is having a big boy event and I or Bundy had a stocker or different style event close to the same date it would be fine , just try not to have a event that my take competition away. There are different type of events that different wheelers will or would like to partake in. I am planning on having a monthly something. Odd months with no big event maybe a one run winner take all. Or just something for who ever shows up that day. But there will be something, I would think this will be just a perk of the park and not a competitive thing between parks, I have also noticed and been told that some people who dont compete dont want to go to a park on comp weekends. So some times a comp can detour guest . So once a month small event that will not interfere with other guest is to be considered.
and find the right times to have the big ones. Working around others dates is easy and the right thing to do when Poss but some dates will end up clashing a bit , It will happen with all the different groups and parks doing stuff. Please no stiring the pot. Lets just enjoy what we have,

you don't see 10 places holding a king of the hammers event? you don't see the trec races at all the indiania parks. why should all the mi parks hold the same events? each park has plenty of there own business.don't make things difficult.
He has a point. The mud guys have saturated the mud market on all the summer weekends into lower participants as well as lower spectator turn out, which in turns makes more work for them and less return on invested said time. I loved the Rock Crawl Tour last summer, it was great seeing some of the parks in MI. To copy an event, takes away from it. I say have your event and make it an event that everyone wants to compete in, make it different from all other events, don't make the competitors choose between parks for a similar event. Looking forward to 2011 events, can't make them all, but will try to make 2-4 of the bigger spectator/payout/prizes events. Really don't like to travel to an event that I just attended the week before, travel cost are going to be high this summer with the price of fuel going up. Sometimes less is more!

This will not be so much a speed run but a do it right and make clean laps with little probs, Going fast may give you more troubles than steady pace.

what about 3 lap race, stop after each lap so you can see others time to beat best time of three wins, may be easer with a stop watch, plus you will know what time to beat and who?? would not be the same format, just a thought

Well I was thinking not so much as speed but to drivers ability to manage the trails and make consistent laps with little trouble and breakage. You may go fast but if your down for repairs your not making laps. This will be up to a ready rig and driver and spotter who work together to make the fastest and MOST laps. Instead of bashing threw and breaking some winching and stacking will be needed to get done clean and in one peice.

lap race. best overall time wins. that will make it different from twisteds race. I hate not knowing how much track i have left to race. this hour thing drives me nuts. just give us a set amount of laps and let us run for best time. not lets run for 4.454234 hours and how many you can finish in that time wins. i guess its just me.

ron post up some dates as soon as possible so people can schedule

I guess i am into a 4wd challenge. Flat out racing is for a different type of 4x4 event than what I am thinking, Tough trucks are cool but I think I want to stick to a, drive , finesse , and off road in the aspect of the parks nature. A lap challenge that test a drivers skill and rigs ability to endure in a set course is what i want to see in comps here. One lap go like hell and if your rig makes it the fastest you win is fun I am sure. Just not what I think about when I go 4wheeling. Some will not want a endurance comp others may think it gives them something to enter since they dont want to enter the go fast races. Some may like both. Plenty of space for many types of event,
I am thinking 3rd weekend in March , first of April or labor day in Sept . Sept could be in conjunction with the Labor day Club challenge. Club event on Sat and BaJa on Sun. April would be the best as for park will be freshly groomed for the summer . I need to check with what dates are taken ,not to conflict with dates of other events .
There are plenty of things be planned by all, so some months may have more than one park doing something.
