Happens all the time. I actually like it when they do because I have more options when they can't make a delivery.

Typically they do make it on the promise date though.

They're not saving me anything, they're costing me time.

I'm not typical then, promised delivery was yesterday, it's not here today

Sure does, I have an issue with Fowlerville Post Office. They are the most disorganized bunch of retards. They constantly lose my mail or deliver someone else's mail to me.

Happend to me all the time when I lived in cedar springs (boonies). My packages were late a day or so also. Fed-ex promises a date, it gets delivered on that date to the USPS, they then deliver the next day. Shitty I know.

With UPS, regular ground delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. You need to pay for expedited delivery for guaranteed delivery times.

I know this because we ship via UPS. I've seen ground delivery times change because of weather, acts of god, etc...

Not sure about Fed Ex and guaranteed delivery times on regular ground shipments. And I've never heard of them dropping stuff off at for the post office to finish delivery, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Google "fedex smartpost", this is an option that whoever shipped to you chose. This isn't due to any sleight of hand by FedEx.

They also use couriers other than USPS in rural areas.

I have used Fedex to ship to my parents in Northern MI, they live on a single lane private road that winds through the woods. Fedex tracking showed it was delivered at 6:30pm to xxxx-whatever name the person was. Then around 8, a van pulls in to the driveway and a courier delivers the package.

Kind of sketchy to me to have my package delivered by someone other than the company I contracted with, so I use UPS or USPS entirely now.

I have, I like 70 miles south of you and they do it all the time for me. Honestly I could care less. I've never had problems with anything USPS, Fedex on the other hand I can do without.

I will have to watch out for that. I will not pay to have anything shipped to me that way if I have to depend on my POS mail lady to deliver something.
