Default Hp d30 + cj d30 + 35ttb = ?

I have a hpd30 w/ 4.10s and enough spare parts to build 1 more.

I want manual locking hubs and my 5on4.5 lugs without that $1300 warn kit.

(Yes I know Im getting greedy)

The 44 knuckle swap onto the dana 35ttb seems to be quite popular on the interwebs with the ranger guys. After a couple hours of research I was 99% confident I could install dana 30 (cj) C's onto my spare hp30 housing (just like in the sticky) but run 35ttb outers instead of 44 outers. That was an hour ago, now I'm having second thoughts as to how this will work.

This would be on a jeep running NO LARGER than a 33/10.50, 4.0, ax15 and an Aussie in the front.

I drive my jeep year round, take it to silver lake, out in the woods and every once in a while I head out to a park. Im pretty damn nice to this thing while wheeling and from what I have read the 35ttb hubs should be plenty strong for what I do.

I would appreciate any information as to what I'm getting myself into with this one.

I'm open to any other ways to install hubs on my hpd30 without spending $1300 or changing lugs.

Thank You

Shawn

No one has any input!

Im going to try this, worst case I toss the 35ttb outers in favor of 44outers and buy some new wheels

A very long time ago I remember a similar discussion, and it didn't really get very far. Most people are not really prepared or skilled to take off and re-install outer C's. But it seems to me it would work like you think.
