Yeah but DNR always seemed to hang out around that area. I like stoner mountain off military road and around the range there. The have a fun little jeep run and nice twotracks. The gravel pit used to be fun and it had a clay mud hole at the bottom until they started to dig it out for gravel again and messed everything up

working on one myself...an 88 though, and mine was stock until I started on it...also using 5.29 Yukon gears and 35's (BFG MT) with the stock 22RE and A340H auto trans, once I figure out something to do about that damn transfer case...

I think I have a spare IFS steering box if your looking for one...I'll have to find it, but I'm pretty sure I know which shelf in the barn its on.

You should solid axle swap it. With the right help, it can be done in a weekend. The lift Im gettin is almost as much work as a SAS.

I like it.I have an 85 SR5 sitting around waiting for me to decide whether to build it or sell it. I drove it around as a stock DD for 5 years wheeling it a little. I bought another 85 and parted it out. So I have piles of spare parts. I also have a very clean 89 I am going to put on the road or sell soon. Too many Toys not enough time

I know a guy over in Jackson with a offroad shop (just off 127), that has a front axle he wants to part with. He's also a Trail gear dealer, he's on this board as Cruiserjg. He & I swapped this one over.

send him or myself a pm, and he can hook you up.

85 4 Runner,
You didn't get that from Airport Auto in Harrison a few years ago did you? I looked at one there they had @ '05. I thought it was going to kill me on a test drive!

Got some new parts from Marlin Crawler

I would say my rotors were shot

Replaced Inner axle seals with HD marlin seals.

Filled knuckles with grease. There was barely any grease left. It was mostly water and gear oil.

Repacked all bearings

Made gaskets for all the rest of the stuff

Had to grind the v6 brake pads and remove wear indicator to fit my knuckles.

Finished Product

I just picked up an 88 Pickup with a blown head gasket for $500.

The cab is in very good shape for michigan. Only a few rust spots.
The frame has no rot and is in great shape.

Gonna eventually swap all the 4runners drivetrain into it.

funny, i just picked up a parts truck that is exactly opposite of yours. it ran, but the frame was very very shot, for the same price as you got this.
