Snow condition update:
It has been warming up in these parts, but still staying cold overnight. Forecast is calling for a bit of rain possibly this weekend and early to mid next week. Then it's going to cool off and potentially snow again.

And, just to reassure anyone that is worried about the snow on the hill, there is literally 7-8 FEET of solid base snow on the hill still.

Are you kidding!? Couldn't ask for better conditions for the snow... 30s during the days, temps dropping into the single digits overnight, a forecasted 6-12" of fresh snow tonight into tomorrow... OH yeah it's still on!

The hills are ready and setting up. There are some picture up on the Facebook page and a few here from our prep yesterday. The second image looking down does no justice in showing that it's a 10ft drop over that edge. The triangular window on the side of the cat is around 5ft tall, so use that as a reference to how much snow is under the machines.

Tomorrow I will be sitting in on Real Rock 95.5/105.1 starting around noon. We'll be talking about the event and giving away some spectator passes and competitor spot. If you are out of the listening area you can listen live over the internet by going to www.realrockradio.fm. Everyone will have the opportunity to call in and win, even the internet folk. The radio station says it's only a couple second delay and we'll be taking caller "#X" for the winners. I'll also be making an BIG announcement regarding a special exhibition happening Saturday night. So tune in!!!

And I'm starting to get nervous. I went and looked at my truck a couple hours ago, The good thing is it's still where I left it last fall, The bad thing is it has three flat tires and a frozen battery....I suppose something should be done about that.

A few more pictures showing just how much snow is here now after the storm Wednesday. One showing the embankment of Mellow Yellow, and an other showing how steep "The Face" is.

Did I mention there is going to be an exhibition run up the Face Saturday night with 4 SuperMod drivers after awards? Ben Dozeman, Mike Page, Kip Martin, and Ron Chittenden have stepped up to take a stab at the 60%+, 450 ft hill. Could this be in the future for the SMSC? We'll find out....

The FACE

New snow from Wednesdays storm...

The finished hills ready for racing.

Do not feel bad. We are leaving at 3 and I just finished up working on one and it is ready as it is going to be. The other one is sitting in Muskegon waiting for some parts that are supposed to be here at 2:30. I think it will make it done but we will leave late like always. Maybe see you up there?
