diesel trucks are now just like any other truck. Diesels are the exception to the rules with their turbos. Propane and nitrous still will not be allowed. I forgot to address that on the web(thanks for bringing it up.) I have made the corrections online to be more clear about this. So let's address it here as well.

When considering a vehicle with a FACTORY turbo charger(i.e. current diesels, Subarus, ect...) they will be considered a regular vehicle and be placed into a class by tire size. It is AFTERMARKET forced induction that moves a vehicle to SuperMod.

i personally dont think diesels should run against gas engines

diesels should run in a class of their own. turbos have lag in them which it takes a bit for it to fire up where a build gas engine will beat us off the line all day long

I heard there may be an older black Chevy truck showing up. I'd guess you are referring to that one?

...As far as stock goes.
Are you talking "Factory Street Stock" as in the way it rolled off the assembly line, or are you talking "street legal stock": Legal bumper height, plates and insurance, could drive to Traverse City and back with out any cool down pit stops. Vehicle still has all its parts it came with (and they may have a chance of functioning). So good luck with every one elses opinion upon Stock or Factory class. What do ya do when a guy shows up wit a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with a Hemi from the dealer with what ever cool options can be gotten these days??? Someone will always push every rule to the breaking point. I think the way you guys have done it so far is simple, fair, and good. Me personally I try to follow every rule to the letter, but thats just me.

The changes to the stock class are in place. As of right now the additional requirement of having to have a manufacturer appropriate engine block is the change that stands. So, no more SBC hiding under the tilt hood of a CJ7.

As already stated, there is always someone that pushes the rules and make everyone take a second look at things. We'll just see what this year brings.

So did I miss something or are headers, aluminum intakes, and 4 barrel carbs still allowed in the 31" and under class? Pretty much any mods allowed as long as it is a jeep motor in a jeep? Gas tank in the back or does it need to be in stock location? Radiator in the back allowed? No top and doors allowed? Just trying to make sure about the next jeep that I build/buy and want to run.

If you have a stock 4, 6 or 8 cylinder don't even show up. Any modiified 8 cylinder is the only chance you have to win, based on my previous experenice at this event.

I just find it hard to believe that stock fuel injected motors have that much of a disadvantage. Seems like in the past at the other hill climbs as well as this one I have seen several Jeep Cherokees that were pure stock and pretty much kicking ass. I can only assume there were fords and chevys doing the same thing. Even if you do not win how often does anyone get the chance to climp a snow hill. My biggest problem is it should be about 1 1/2 hours closer to home. I guess there is no way to move the hill though. Than onm top of that it can be alot of fun at Ivans after the event.

And do not forget the V-8 stuff that catchs fire, gets stuck, runs like shit, and the many oither things that can influnce the outcome of the race. I did not make tyhis one last year but heard it was truely luck of the draw on which lane you got to run alsao with one side being better than the other. Seems like climbing hills in the winter can make things equal out quite well. Ity is lots of fun also.

I am pretty sure that I will be there running something. Probably the stock old CJ 7 that I ran last summer. If it is painted and looks good. :) And if the trany gets changes. Something about the manual trany that does not have 2nd gear.
