unrelated note, but since there's a few pics now, is it staying cool without the rad shroud, or have you not really driven it enough? I'm guessing not with the trans issues.

I'm debating if I want to use the stock plastic fan and make a shroud or use my nicer CJ dual electric fan..

I haven't drivin it enough to know, however I plan on switching to an electric fan as soon as I can.

The stereo is out and the ipod is running the system. He is hooking up the subs right now. I'm impressed....this guy knows his stuff! The ipod will be kept in the glove compartment with a long enough wire to comfortably be ran by passenger or driver. Will be ran by key so i don't forget to turn a toggle switch off and oops.....dead battery. volume control switch has a small amp on it for added power from ipod. Will post pics when job is done. Took a few of fab work and how exhaust was ran while i was out there.

Several comments.

1) Now that it has a useless stereo in it, I don't want it.
2) I strongly advise against an electric fan. (ask Benny how that worked out at Bundy Hill today)
3) Put a fan shroud on the stock OEM fan and never worry about cooling again.
4) Glad you are making progress.

Here's a few pictures of the wiring the ipod in jeep. I'll be putting a little storage cubby where the stereo used to go. It sure sounds good!

You can kind of make out the 2 amps. 1 running the subs the other the tower speakers. Zac made this look easy.......too many wires for me!

To install the Ipod to drive speakers is pretty straight foreward. I used an Ipod to rca cable with charging capabilities. That is inputed to a 5 volt preamp line driver with gain adjustment. The line driversends the amplified input signal to her existing amps & speakers. Total damage with parts and labor is about $200. and there is no radio to fry out. This setup can also be configured to work with a universal 1/8th inch plug to work with any input source (ie phone, walkman, etc).

I seriously cannot believe you just said that with the fact that the average "Highest level of education obtained" hovers right around 4th grade...
FOR THE ENTIRE SITE.

I'm convinced 1/2 the site doesn't realize you're a female, which is probably for the best, as far as your PM inbox is concerned.
