Magnaflow FTW, quiet at idle and cruise, loud when you want it to be.

After listening to Bennys in Windrock I already knew I was going to go with a quieter exhaust. sounds good.....but you are all right, would make me batty after awhile.

On a diff subject....here's a couple picks of the fab work Kevin has done for my radiator.

Anyone run flowmaster 70 series? I am wanting something that is kinda quite, but still has bark. My plan was 2.25 back to 1 70 series then 3.0 out the back. Is there a quieter option that flows well?

I'm running dual 70 series and all I can say is I CANNOT WAIT TO GET RID OF THEM. It was cool at first, but long trail rides are horrible.

The number of bends and length of piping after the muffler can have an effect as well. Try to run full length pipes out the back, rather than a short turn down right after the muffler.

I'm thinking to run 2.25 off the headers to a single 3" muffler, but I haven't bought it yet, probably in the next couple weeks.

isnt there a formula or something for the flow that says a 90* bend is like adding 10 feet?

2.25 seems mighty small

crawl under a newer(04 and newer) 2500hd and look how big the exhaust is.

My understanding for my motor (5.3) is the stock exhaust is a single 2.56" ID exhaust.

I'm thinking 2.25" per cylinder bank, merge into a 3" pipe. I have some of the stock downpipes on the manifolds, I'll check them, maybe 2.5 is more appropriate..

So, what would you recommend? Also, do you have them going all the way out or dumped underneath the tub?
thanks

Pretty similar to my plan, what are you thinking for a muffler? Are going to build your own exhaust? I might see if the exhaust shop can sneak 2.5 in though.
thanks

This is exactly what I plan to do. I don't want it all the way to the back , just one more thing to get caught up on or rip off. Pretty set on Spintech super pro street 6000.
