Starting to look more like my jeep again.

Gauges were supposed to come with mounts....didn't so these were made on lunch hour. Who needs store bought shit when you have fabricator workin on your jeep?

Of course the radiator outlets don't match the motor outlets (why would we expect anything to be easy on this build ) so Kevin is making parts to weld on the radiator to get them to match. This way if I end up having to change the hoses down the road I won't be on a wild goose chase for a specialty size.

Looking for sound bites on mufflers. Will be bringing her home open headers. What sounds nice and growly but not obnoxious? I'd like a nice rumble to her but still want to be able to hear myself think.

Some people think mine sounds too quiet. What I like is that for general riding and listening to spotters, etc, it's nice and quiet. But it talks good when I get into it.

I think Cheeta makes a hell of a shifter. The lockout is two finger operated below the T handle. Pure quality but pricy. You can build a steel pedestal mount for your shifter and place it almost anywhere you want. It just needs a bottom mount plate center post onto a top plate. You'll have an exposed cable but does it matter? You can angle it, tilt it, rotate or whatever you need to do to make it comfy for you.

Edit: I must have been a couple or so pages back. Was reading all the input on shifters............nevermind..........dooohhhhh

Wish I was! I'm finally caught up with the last four pages....lol. I have the perfect guy for your exhaust. His name is Forrest Haslip and works at J&S Auto. They're on Dixie behind Oak Electric. Owner of the shop is Roger. I know them both well and know for fact they would do excellent work for you. They primarily do hot rods and fabrication but will sneak an exhaust job in here and there. Forrest did John Athertons greeny CJ build and nailed it.

You'll like the DURABILITY of the 40's too - 14ga steel, IIRC.

Good point.........lol

On a serious note. Do a little research on Spintech. About the best quality you'll find and they have so much to offer. I especially like the oval tube systems.
