Campgrounds we've stayed at for those wondering if we'd fit in anywhere:

Riverview Campground - Sterling, MI. No sweat, even picked up a site that was VERY tight to get into, granted if there were other campers there when we got there we wouldn't have been able to get turned around but I could've just pulled in rather than back in. Went there twice last year. I would highly suggest this place, awesome campsites right on the river.

Harlan, KY Putney Trailhead - no brainer it's a big field no issue

KOA just north of Corbin, KY - super tight site, awning about touched the neighbors, other than loosing site of a park sign had no issue.

Silver Lake Resort & Campground, Mears, MI - no issue plenty of room

Yogibear, Mears, MI - no issue plenty of room, I was most worried about this place than any others but it was easy in/out

Couple places in Canada no sweat

St. Ignace State Park - had to pass on the waterview site for a pull thru. Waterview was not doable.

Yogibear - Grayling, MI - no sweat tons of room

Man I've enjoyed reading comments on this thread. Your build is amazing. Not gonna ask you a ballpark on how much it set ya back, but I'm sure it was enough! Would love to do something like this one day. Either this or an RV with a flatbed. But this is awesome because it is built, not bought. Love it man! Hope to see it in person one day!

Thanks, hopefully we'll be hitting some local MI events this year but unfortunately I don't think we'll camp as much this year, we have a few other family obligations/vacations that don't include the camper. It was enough $$ but the reason I did it is that it was way cheaper than buying a toyhauler and we got the layout we wanted for our young kids.

For sale - don't expect to be able to get a loan on just the 2004 Dutchman 5th wheel, you'll need to bring some cash to the table or finance some other way........I will start a for sale thread soon.

I dunno what one of those fifth wheel campers cost, nor what you have into cutting it up to fit it to your trailer, but after all that work and possibly doing irreversible fab work to the camper I can't imagine selling it.

Actually I'd be willing to bet I could cut it apart in 24hrs or less, really all that was done to the camper was some tieing into the 5th wheel hitch with some vertical welds, some stitch welds to the new frame, and some plate to tie into the deck (all welds are super easy to cut free without affecting the camper), cut the axles out, cut the bumper off, cut the sewers free but didn't relocated them they're in the same spot they use to be. But I'd rather sell it complete even though the thought crossed my mind to then reinforce and deck the rest of the trailer to have a 40' deck for hauling 3 rigs.

I'll send you a pm.

I really do love this setup, it's been a blast, was fun to build, it's dialed in exactly how I want it now, my wife loves the interior cleanliness/layou. But I just joined a program at one of the ski lodges up north to work/volunteer during snowboard season and want to get a camper better suited to use in the winter (can't afford a cabin up north in addition to all the other toys). This is by no means a "need to sell" situation, if the right guy comes along with the right amount of $$ I'm happy to sell otherwise we'll make it work in the winter....but i'm goonna push to try to sell it.
