Default fire emergency lights

so i know its a long shot but here it is, i officially got notified last night at our monthly fire meeting that i need to have a 360' light on top of my xj, when i am coding to the fire hall (even though i live two blocks away and can beat ninty percent of the other guys to the hall with out a light), i currently run a dash light which apprehently isnt enough....so here it is..if by chance any of you are or know of someone that is trying to offload some roof mount emergency lights and sirens, and you would be willing to part with them shoot me a pm....thanks..

yeah i am with the Rochester Volunteer Fire Dept....i didnt know about writing them suckers off come tax season, but at 300-1000 dollors for a new light bar and another 100 or so for a siren...it gets kinda expensive so i am looking for a used set..kinda on the cheap....especially since its the middle of the holiday season and i still gotta pay bills and buy presents....300-1000 i do not have....thanks for the heads up on the tax write off though...

I bought a rotating light for my plow truck at a discount tool store here in Flint. It was $10, came with amber, red, and blue covers you could use.

Cig lighter. Its about 8" tall I would guess, 4-5" across. Uses a 1156 bulb.

Got it at REB tools in Flint on Richfied Rd.

Looks something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMBER...spagenameZWDVW

but as said, comes with amber, red, and blue covers.

I have been rigging fire trucks for over 23 years now. NFPA standards are a lot more than 1- 360 light on your roof. Siren has to be a 100watt and that alone is around $300.00 with a speaker. I myself won't run lights on a personal car or truck. If you ever get in a wreck, look out! You may want to read up on it first or get a hold of me sometime. There is more to it then most guys know about and the law will be tough on you. Some states you can't drive in them if you have roof lights on your car, I found this out the hard way 15 years ago. Just some FYI for you.

Big Daddy, Thanx for the info..i am aware of the nfpa standards in regards to the 360 and siren. i initially didnt wanna run any lights what so ever, namely because of expense liabiltiy and especially since i live so bloody close to the hall .however, depending on the time of day, i have to cross one major intersection which tends to get bottled during rush hour (as in, stupid civilians dont pay any attn to the light and block the intersection)..in the event that i have to cross (M150) against a light in the middle of rush hour again, i want to be visible and audible to all...as it is i dont plan on "coding" from more than a mile away. normally i can run peaceful and normal to the hall with out lights and siren and be there on time. any which way..and as it stands our pagers dont work to well outside of the city limits...so i should never be coding from to far away..guess what i am trying to say is i have given this alot of thought and i dont plan on being stupid about it...make sense?...thanks again...
