Does anyone on here have any suggestions for good quality reasonably priced running watch? Something that will show pace and distance. under 100 bucks would be nice.

I've used both Suunto and Garmin watches to measure heart rate and a few other things. Both have models that can be found under $100 but to get a watch that will measure your distance and pace accurately you will need one that is GPS enabled and will probably bump the price up considerably (closer to $150 - $200). I've heard good things about the Timex Globaltrainer GPS watch but that will cost you between $200 - $250.

If you have a Blackberry, iPhone, or Android, I recommend the Runkeeper application. They have a free version and a paid version (I have the paid version and don't remember what the differences are over the free one). It can be a little buggy but they are pretty good about sending out patches for problems that arise. It measures my distance, time, elevation changes, pace, mile splits, etc. It also allows you to program in particular workouts that will give you audio cues at certain distances/times which is very nice. I've been using it for about two years and don't even bother with the watches anymore.

I took a look at all my runs through June of this year and added them up and had done 560 miles. I've run about 110 miles in July so am now am thinking I should be able to hit 1,000 miles, especially if I can really bank some extra miles in September or early October when the weather is really nice for running.

I decided to convert all my routes to KML/KMZ files and overlay them onto Google Maps. Looking at it has also given me the secondary goal of running every inch of road in Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills. I've covered probably 90% to 95% of the roads with most of the gaps being all in certain neighborhoods.

Here's the map through June:

You bought yourself a black guy? How does that help you run? Do you put a knife in his hands and have him chase you around?
