Wheeled today, truck ran great. Only issue is timing it too advanced, it won't restart warm easily. Other than that, very pleased. Could still use some more power, think I'm gonna be on the lookout for some good aluminum heads and a cam. Maybe a little stall on my converter too....truck feels too stock for me lol

You using a newer mini high torque starter? My older one did that on the B2 so I switched to the mini and its fine now.

I just read a article in 5.0 Mag about those old Kenne Bell Blowzillas for the 87-93 foxbodies.......got me thinkin hard about mine now!

All the roller H.O. cams are the same across the board. After 94 all the 5.0/5.8 went to the high torque, trucks too.

Mehh, I'd like to stay Ford.

Cage is done enough, I just wanna wheel it now. Maybe add a few bars this winter but all my bends are pretty much done.

mine was changed by the the person i got it from. its a b303 cam and the rpm range is higher than the stock one, so off the line mine is a dog but if you can keep it in the rpm range it does good. i checked into special ground cams and they are not much more than an off the shelf cam.
i would consider trading my b303 for a stock one but i have not found anyone that wants it yet. (i have not tried very hard either)

I always thought the b303 cam was more of a low end cam. How about retarding it a few degrees?

Mine is a dog off the line too with the stock cam and stock stall.

You do realize your trying to rotate like 400lbs of mass vs like 60lbs compared to the stang right ? Plus you have a slush box c6 robbing your power vs a 5spd delivering the power in the stang. It'll never be "what you remember" it being in the stang vs the ranger.

Years ago one of my buddies had a really nice and stout 383 stroker in his 79 trans am and that fawker was quick. He sold the motor to another buddy who put it in his lifted chevy and it was a huge dog.

I don't want my motor to hold me back. When I switched from the 4.0 to the 5.0 I picked up HP, but I lost gearing also.

Just seems through the whole process you've been comparing the 5.0L when in the stang to now in the ranger. Its unfair comparision for the 5.0L as it will never be the same as it was given the differences in the chassis etc..
