ok.....

Kyle said runs like chit under load and this was confirmed easily enough by power braking in the bay, felt like it lost at least one cylinder and broke up bad.

I hooked up my lab scope to the Ignition primary on the neg. side of the coil and a sync. probe on # 1 and this is what I seen.

Cylinder number 2 was hardly firing at all, confirmed this installing a spark tester and sure enough as it was idling it was only sparking about 20% of the time. Kyle said when he pulled the spout it seemed a little better so I did the same and sure enough I had spark about 90% of the time.

Here is a zoomed in pic. of the missing firing event.

I now wanted to look at the signal from the ign. module (pip) and the one from the ECM that controls timing (spout)

You can see the blue one (pip) is not very uniform and kinda breaks up right before the miss.

I ran to my least favorite parts place (only one open) AZ and grabbed a new pick-up for the dist., installed it and now we have this, no more missing

The truck revs clean, sounds great. I did not drive it cuz it is late and dark but I will tomorrow am and report back.

Damn dude....you are my hero.

Is there a reason something like that would go bad? Oh, and will it power brake yet?

And, I wonder if that auto ecu will work now, seeing it was missing like a mofo with it.
