I say leave the stinger short and stubby, looks good as is and a longer stinger only gets u in trouble when doing tight maneuvers, and trying to get out of a deep holes..:D

Yup, I think your right. Today I tried to back it up a tree and reverse quit about a four off the ground. Checked fluid and it was about 1.5 quarts low, added half a quart, what I had on hand, and after it made it about another 6" higher before it quit moving. It's stop about a quart low and I am sure that is the problem.

R u using type f fluid? It is fords original transmission fluid, works great way better than dextron merc. It has a grabbier fluid make up, more like b&m trick shift but half the cost.
I use it in gm transmissions when I rebuild them, works like a small shift kit cause there is lots less slip.
Dunno if that helps but IF I ran a c6 id definitely have type F trans fluid in it no ?s asked..
Just my two pennies..

Not saying you have to change it, it was jusy my two cents.
when ford first designed their transmissions the designed the fluid passageways too small to allow the right amount of fluid to the clutch packs, so to alleviate this problem they created this Type F fluid so there was enough friction/fluid for the clutches to grab sooner and hold better. kinda how the name came about, some people say type ford, or some say type friction.
Either way if you do some Googling I think you would be pleasantly surprized at how much better it works.
Ive used it in every gm trans ive built (350,400,700r4,4l60s)in every ford trans ive built (c4,c6,e4od,AOD) all the way up to e4od's to this day they all run good.
Learned this initially from a old time trans. Rebuilder, built transes for fifty years. So I tried it and have never looked back.
But like u said, its just my two cents, and they r u guys transes.

I should do some reading on it. Can you mix the 2? I need to go buy a few quarts of fluid and I might just get that.
