Well got the truck all fixed and went out wheeling last weekend. Truck worked great, just need to fix my power steering pump and I have a leaking steering box. I beat the snot out of the box, again and the fair lead took a beating.

After this last trip my box has had it, it was no longer holding any normal shape and it is time to take it off for the new one. I decided to wheel the rest of the season box less

Here is the box before I removed it...

My smashed fairlead

Boxless....

And a couple poser shots from the trip

Well it has been a busy week working on the truck. First thing I did was remove my stock pump. I need something better but saginaws are hard to come by so I decided to port and shim my bypass. In doing so I gained more volume and more psi ( I think) to allow it to wok better. Along with doing the pump I swapped my steering box for a non leaking one and added a cooler. So far of seems like it is working much better. I will find out tomorrow.

Next I added new tail lights in the rear crossmember. Just got some cheap led round markers to use them for stop lamps considering I don't drive on the steer, these turned out nice IMO.

So next, I decided I hated the look of the truck with no bed and got to cutting up my new bed. I did a comp cut and narrowed the rear about 12" total then capped the ends. I plan on running some tube down the sides to help beef it up, just no time yet. It is pretty stout now compared to the old set up.

Then this morning I got up and painted it, installed it and comp cut the front. Good enough for now. I plan on redoing some stuff when I run tube so it isn't finished yet.

Gonna got trim some more box sides, looks too close to me.

I would put some kind of radius to the front cut of the bed so it at least kinda matches the front.

Nice Job today! You made smoother progress through the lot crawl than many of the larger tired rigs. Driver skill shined today!

Maybe so but you still need to know where to point it and how hard to shoot it.

By the way, I was the goofball that asked you if you still wanted bigger tires after your run.

Truck worked great yesterday, gave it the worst/best (you pick) beat down of the year. We ran a club comp at a local off road park. We didn't win, but lets not go there haha.

Here are a couple pictures, hope to have some video later...

Then the damage I found so far, I bent my front rim, the inner lip, easy fix and cracked the rear frame just behind the drivers spring hanger. It was an area I knew I was gonna have to work on, I noticed it buckling a few weeks ago. From the factory there is a lot of holes in the frame there. I will either plate it or chop it all off and start over with rectangle tube.

Oh, I also hit a tree pretty hard, broke a marker light, smashed my fender a little more and bent my hood lol, o-well.

pictures

bent rim

cracked frame

So now the part out begins, I am starting ranger version 2.0 here soon.
