Nope.... Ranger for now

I'm gonna beat the ranger till I can't beat it no more! I'm not going to try hard tosell the boogie buggy chassis, so maybe eventually if I still have it.

The ranger will be fine, switching to full hydro so the frame around the steering box is a non issue, the leaf springs may have issues.... Maybe 4 link it sooner then later? And I need to figure out a better radiator and fan combo.

Not sure any of this will be fixed before I win the mustache run.

Yup, you have 2 issues that would be a big help. Full hydro and link the rear........ or at least find some way to protect your rear shackles. Beyond that, the rig works well.

Kyle,

What are you running for a radiator / fan setup now? Also what is your wheelbase?

You got it!

But I am buying a summit racing aluminum, 31x19 radiator and gonna try to mount it in a way so I can use a Taurus fan, maybe as a pusher? Can you run them in reverse?

My current fan is taking a dump, bearings going bad and the radiator is too small.

Otherwise I am going to rework the bumper and winch mount, move the winch forward so I can move the radiator forward and fit the Taurus fan.

Don't think you can run them as a pusher.

X2 I don't think the blades are shaped right.

Get the fan and when can trim it up and build a shroud like we did for mine. Make it a little narrower so it will sit closer and clear better then in stock form.

Ok, I have one or 2 now. Looks like I'm Gonna have to rework my winch mount to make room for the radiator and fan. The radiator is just about touching the winch and the fan is just about touching the motor and the new one is thicker..... We will see. Maybe wait till after the mustache run to do that.

Unless you pop for the expensive one, most of the Summit radiators are glued together rather than soldered. I bought a custom one from Howe, made right here in Michigan.

Call them up, give them your needs and dimensional restrictions and they will make you what you want for a competitive price.

Next opinion is don't get an electric fan that is hard to come by. I burned up a Taurus fan while at Windrock & the only thing I could buy was a standard fan at Autozone. I ran hot all weekend. On my 6.0 swap I opted to go with a mechanical fan after having more than one problem with electric fans.

The speedway radiators aren't epoxied and are cheap.
