I'm pretty sure they are just the "blues"

And got these in the mail today.. Managed to get the right side fabbed onto the frame and a pad on the axle for it to hit.. Looks like im basically gonna be able to clear the 37's with no additional lift. sitting at the same height I was before looks like 7ish inches of up travel, about 9 inchs of droop (16 inch travel coilover)

My old 285/70r17's standing next to the 37's... Mounted and balanced the Krawlers today (not yet cut) and dang... They balanced up better than the 33 tsl's I was running before. If anyone is interested, tire 1 took 8oz of weight tire 2 took 5oz, the 3rd was 2.5oz... and the 4th didn't require any weight! And they all looked like they rolled smooth as glass. (that 285 had about 6 oz on it )

Never seen uncut krawlers but if you cut them anything like the normal ones I bet they will work fine! Sounds like a good way to save some coin

I think the uncut version is just as much to buy new as the regular ones, but I did get a pretty good deal on the ones I got.

Almost got the shocks in, cycled the suspension.. Everything looks good but ran out of welding wire... Wheel base is 95 inches ask if you want to know any more info. Ill try to get a few more measurements posted up in a few days

Looking good! I was expecting to see that thing at work tomorrow, but you probably couldn't find any welding wire on Xmas day.

Making good progress.. Having trouble getting the engine to run right now.

The steering and track bar are exactly the same length (they could be swapped back and forth)

Good job on having the steering angle match the track bar I know that's easier said than done.

Are you planing on running the tires uncut, or just for mock up?

well Im having a lot trouble with the motor (reason i started the front axle swap in the first place)

Cant seem to get the 2.5 to run right, My old dist was whipped out, replaced it and a few other things.. doesnt seem to run any better. Might just have to swap it for an 5.3/th350/np205 combo or something along those lines

Do a compression check...TJ 2.5's are prone to piston cracking.

Had a compression tester, couldnt get it to thread into the holes, seems like im gonna have to make some custom adapter. The threads are recessed to far into the head for the one I had. seems like its firing on all cylinders tho

no build thread is complete without crappy quality picture of welds

Link separation at frame about 5 inches, separation at axle about 9 inches had to modify the exhaust, cut off the old upper link brackets (the upper link really didnt have alot of side to side wiggle room, the starter and motor mount bracket really had to split down the middle to get it to tuck up there. Tucked the exhaust up as high as possible for a new skid plate coming soon

Didnt show in pictures but for the rear mounts of the hoops I used the thru hole in the frame that you put a socket thru for the original short arms. Had some tube that fit inside a 1.75x.120 wall, made both holes fit that, slid it thru, welded it, slid the 1.75 over welded that to the frame, welded it on the end to the inside tube, need to cap the ends still, but I like how that part came out. Notched the hoop tube to sit on that.

I "had" inspirations of making a lightweight box and sealing it to the hood with some louvers to draw in actual cold air.

more weak ass weld pictures
