Default 4.0L injector plugs...

Stupid question...I'm in the process of removing a 4.0L from a '94 XJ, and the plugs on the wiring harness that plug onto the injectors are an odd design. Sadly, I can't figure out how to remove them. Is there a trick to these that I'm obviously not getting? I'm trying not to force anything.

I looked at the '96 XJ I have as a reference, and that uses a different plug style.

So how do I get these things off?

On my son's 94xj there is a little wire clip that has to be pulled off first. After removing the clip they pulled right off.

I wonder if there was a running change in '94, then. My '96 has the wire clip you mentioned, but the '94 and '92 don't.

I was under the impression they all had the wire clip until the late 90's when IIRC they switched to plugs with red plastic locks.

A pic would probably help, if its feasible to grab one.

I got in a rush to get the motor pulled for bumpy, and decided to just snip the wires. I didn't really need the harness anyway.

Thanks again, bumpy!
