Default Cool looking vintage freezer - Gone two years ago!

Neat old 1948 Kelvinator freezer. 110 volt. Been in my family almost 20 years. Stopped staying cool 3 years ago. Friend in the business says it just needs a recharge of freon, but I no longer have a use for it. I even have the original owners manual.

Located in Algonac, Michigan. Price is free, free, free. I only ask that:

1. It is first come, first serve. I will not hold onto it or wait for your brother, sister, niece, dad, grandma, to decide if they really want it. Whoever shows up first to get it owns it, and I don't care if you were the first or 15th to post that you want it. First to come gets it. If you CALL me on my PHONE, I will hold it for 1 day for you, that's it.

2. I have a bad back, so you must bring at least one person (preferrably more) with you to help load it. It needs to be carried down 7 steps, and through my garage, approx 15 feet to my driveway.

3. This is the only pic. I'm not posting more, as my camera is junk and a major PITA to use.

Is there a vampire trapped in the freezer? What's the cross for? :tonka:

I love old fridges and freezers like that. you could dial it down and have a killer beer chest. if you were closer, i'd give you a 6ixer for it.

The walls are real thick, so the inside is small. Probably one adult, or two midgets.

Those old chest freezers make GREAT sandblsting cabinets, they already have a door with a latch&gasket, just put a window in the door, cut 2 holes in the front for the big gloves, take out all the refrigeration stuff,& add the blaster head! You can get all the parts from harbor freight or TIP sandblasting.

I talked to Steven Grant, he disagrees. Definately at least two adults and then some. you just have to know how to cut them up.

We were just talking about these older freezers in my refrigeration class...my teacher said only good things about the OLD ones...really hold a good LOW TEMP & easy to work on. Wish i wasn't so far away!

Thanks for all the ideas guys, but I really want this thing gone. If you are lucky, I'll give you and your buddy a when you come to get it Otherwise, I'm hooking a tow strap to it, pulling it out the door, and down the street to the junkyard!

I want this. It would match my 1947 Kelvinator refrigerator perfectly.

Alas, I have no friends, and no place to put it... yet.

If it's still here in a few more weeks, it's mine.
