I was there. The crowds were absolutely massive. The best signs were the ones that made no sense. My favorite was "Legalize Gay Pot".

I was also there. It was amazing to see SO MANY people come out to support it. I was happy to see that we doubled the number that Glenn Beck drew in.

So what was the point of this rally, or was there really no more point than get a bunch of hippies together?

Seriously though, I don't get it.

So beck had 300,000, and the comedy central guy had 160,000, and that is double?

The funny part is that you believe that

Is "spreading the wealth around" still a good thing?

I was being nice too. CBS said there were 87,000 at beck's rally, however, all other services reported 300,000+, including sources saying closer to 1,000,000.

After all, this looks like 87,000 people, right?

I had seen around 100,000+ for Beck's and 200,000+ for Stewarts. I'd like to see some official estimates.

It so the Nerdy, Single people that went could hook up with other Nerdy Single people that agreed with thier political Views. .

It was for fun, entertainment and to make a statement. As far as I can gather.

just look at the pics and make a determination for yourself as to how many more people were at becks than stewarts

I'm pretty sure it was to point out the over-reaction to alot of fears of what could be. The sad truth is that alot of these fears are possible.

helllooooo. it's the . don't you know they took 140,000 from the beck count and added it to the liberal stewart number. this way there were more people there and less at becks. makes sense.

I was talking to friends who live down there who went to check out the Beck rally as well and talked to a couple cab drivers and the staff at a Thai restaurant in the area and everybody who is down there all the time said the rally this past weekend was much larger than Beck's.

The aerial photo CC posted of the Beck rally doesn't look anywhere near as densely packed as what I saw on the ground Saturday. It was literally wall-to-wall people for about 4 or 5 blocks in every direction from the mall and just downright busy for a few blocks beyond that.

The Metro also set a record for ridership on a Saturday with an estimated 850,000 trips (an average Saturday has about 250,000). I haven't seen what the ridership was for the day of the Beck rally though.
