pussy... I just went around the block again :tonka:

some kids were yelling at me, but I don't know what they were saying over the exhaust. I need to pu the front driveshaft on if I am going to play though, I almost got stuck in the driveway.

oh and FYI if you drive it... DONT mash the gas on this thing with these tires... I spun it out on dry pavement almost, and it was hard countersteering as I didn't know how it handles :tonka:

It is a WILLYS OVERLAND military arctic hard top, not in bad shape other then the peeling paint and broken windows. The Olive Drab is under the white still...

Figured I better go pick it up as now I am starting on body work and can make fitment better....

Did you get the doors with the top? I know of a flatty that had a steel hard top & doors up North (near Onaway). I can see if I can put you in contact with the guy if you want (PM me if you're interested in this info). He may still have it.

Craig
Craig, I have everything for this top but the glass, That ID tag is actually on the door. I have to adjust fitment to my tub a little because the passenger side of my jeep is tweaked ever so slightly. Thiws hard top is completely aluminum except the windshhield frame.

I actually know of a jeep with a half -hard top near Copper Harbor that I plan on checking out this summer if I have the time and money. However, that is a CJ3B it looked like, there is also a 3B near my house, I just need to figure out which owner I want to haggle with, not to mention get rid of some projects. There is a DJ locally I can get too -- I was thinking Mopar 360 and TF727 that Adam has for that

Likely will never happen, but I can dream :tonka:

Look'n good! I love the 225 V6, had one in my '71 cj5. Yea they have plenty of power. Look for a 4 barrel intake and carb, that really brought mine to life.
Keep up the nice work.

Adam is skeeeered :tonka:

Of course when it snaps around on an icy road in the night with me driving and some minor backfiring I would be skeered too

Had a pretty day today, so I went for a ride... then got some more work done.

Adam came down and did some more patching, his welds look so much better then mine.

Lots more bodywork to go....

One of these days I will get video of it going down the road.... now that the base gasket has been sealed up it runs NICE. I took off the cap and rotor to change it and the cap/rotor/points were all BRAND NEW

Need to hook the meter up and check the dwell though.

Great pics and info of your buildup . Your project 46'2A and this fiberglassed, V8 Chevy. Is calling my name. I seen this at Willow Run airshow last summer.

Gotta re-do the blackpipe booty fab steering with these parts from spro... Found my extra gauges that will look right at home in the CJ, don't think I will use the YJ tach though, as I think the Sunpro tach is pretty neat on the column, electric fan etc...

added a triple gauge pod so I can monitor the motor, the temp sender had to be booty fabbed for now though. OP is 40 cold idle 15-20 hot idle... better then expected

got some more parts, early YJ guages, but doubt I will use the tach...

dash patched and ready to cut for gauges

Tailgate chains reattached

Shift knob I had laying around... either I will paint it, or I will use this WW2 grenade from my Great grandfather....

Start of the bondo on the rear... need to sand it and smooth it again...

More stuff done... early YJ speedo, Adam worked on the radiator/fan support, and I took the Saggy box back off and worked on beefing the frame up to level the box out and bring the draglink back to the proper position, it will look different when we are done as the frame rails will appear tp be pretty tall, but it needed to be able to double as a winch mount eventually.

Started fixing the steering...

Started installing the fan

Then we ran out of welding wire...

I also worked some more body work on the rear 1/4, but it was drying slowly as it was chilly tonight

looks great keep up the awesome work. And use the WW2 grenade from your granddad that would just give it that extra touch.
