Default My 5.0 Explorer

I purchased a 97 explorer a few months ago from a member on here.

5.0, auto, 4.56 gears.

The day after I got it.

If you haven't yet, a bw4406 tcase swap was the best mod I ever did on both my 5.0 Explorer and my wife's.

I'm kinda late on starting this thread but I have already done a torsion twist, rear shackles, manual bw4406 t-case. It came with a 2" body lift so my 33x12.50 Baja claws fit without rubbing.
I'll get a updated pic here shortly
I still need to pull the interior to finish the shifter for the t-case

The 4406 transfer case has started to make some noise in the last few weeks. Front output bearing is shot and due to no front axle disconnect on these the front shaft spins all the time. Emailed LKQ yesterday about the warranty on it and they sent me another one. Got it today. Swap it out in the next few days.
Someone help motivate me to pull the interior for the shifter

Swapped the transfer case out and got the shifter installed.

Mounted up a set of duratracs tonight. The claws weren't the best tire in the winter. They will find a new home on the wife to be's 63 f100. I also got a rci front skid plate for it that covers more of the front end than the one that's on it.

I decided I didn't like the front bumper so it came off. Built a front receiver hitch and reinforced the front of the frame. Also installed the skid plate. Some tube will be added to the front for a slim tube bumber.

Don't worry that tow hook is long gone

It survived a day at twisted trails dog party. Spent most of the day on the Rev limiter and went places I didn't think it would go and didn't break a thing. Very happy with it right now.
