Well... I lied.

I was bored tonight (ANOTHER LIE).

I want to do some shooting this weekend, so I decided to build a bullet-trap. 4'x4' center.
1/8" wings, 1/8" piano hinges, doubled-up 1/8" back panel and I'm debating on adding a 2'x4' peice of 1/8" down the center, making a 3/8" center. Guns are dumb, they keep me from my Jeep project.

Sigh....let me know if you find a cure, I'm in the same (heavily armed) boat.

Trap looks nice, 1/4" at that angle should be fine for most pistol calibers and slower rifle rounds....my 1/4" plate may have been at a slightly steeper angle, but it could not stop 180 grain spitzers out of my .308 at 200 yds...I have a chunk of AR plate I've been meaning to try, but I have too many distractions (garage projects) keeping me from my shooting time.

How do you plan on staking your trap to the ground?

I actually sold a lot of my Hi-power rifles when I bought this house, because I think I can get away with shooting pistols and .22's all day without causing a problem. This was intended for 99% .22 and .45 use. I think I may make a heavy plate that I can attach for rifle use, but that was not my intention. Im not sure how i'm going to stake it yet, it weights over 300#'s, and will be positioned on a 10* hill, so if it moves I will come up with something. Test and tune tomorrow.

Scott, no, and I have been looking. DJ doesn't have it.

I had my neighbors 89 yo father here because he wanted to shoot his 30-06, just one more time. My father down-loaded a batch of ammo for him that didn't upset his pace-maker, and we had a good time. You crazy bastards can come out another time.
