Default dodge lift kits

i was looking into lifting my truck a little in the spring. i noticed i cannt seem to find a long arm kit for my 99 cummins. they only make long arms for the newer body style 03 plus.

are the frames much different of the axle position to where i couldnt make it work and just change the frame mount to whats needed?

i guess i may even just consider adding bigger springs and making my own arms? may be worth it in the long run

I would just make your own arms, i know that if you need custom arms made, BDS will do it but they will charge you your firstborn and both testies.

What about this kit?

http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/s...-dodge-8-8.htm

A friend of mine bought a kit from some no name place for his 01 ram 1500. It wasn't very well build and we could have built it better but he's scared to build stuff himself he'd rather buy it already built.

skyjacker and bds both make a long arm kit. both are kinda high on price but bds is made right here in mi and has a lift time warranty.

i knew bds made one and i would like to go with them but from what i see all the long arms kits are like 24 inchs long. not very long and arent adjustable. i think bds may be adjustable but need to call monday morning to find out. i see that a few companies make a long arm for the 3rd gen trucks with a radius arm style too replace the upper arm like a 3 link or anything like that. what do you guys think will work the best for a long arm set up. im thinking about building my own kit to get just what i want. but since the cummins is so tall i cannt do a 4 link under it cause i wont be that high. im just looking for a little taller truck with a much better ride. i am running 35s on stock truck now with a leveling kit. most of these 6 inch kits say that can clear a 35. whats up with that. just more up travel i suppose. this truck wont be wheeled so thats not important to me

all lift kits say you can clear XX" tire when infact you can clear a far larger tire. like a leveling kit for a 2nd gen half ton says you can clear a 33 when one can clear a 36 with the right offset wheel as i have done it, but didnt have much flex. check out pavementsucks.com or ramchargercentral.com. pavementsucks has ALOT of info on the 2nd gens and alot of guys have made there own long arms.
