Default flea medication for dogs

can anyone recommend a good treatment to remove fleas from my husky? she gets treated with frontline once a month so idk how she picked up fleas. but non the less i can't seem to effectively get rid of the bastards. flea baths don't seem to get them all due to her thick fur. i'm bout ready to shave her damn fur off. the vet told me of this spray to get but it's expensive and i'd go through 4 or 5 between the dog and all my furniture.

Honestly, I bet your house is infested with them if they keep coming back.

i use this around my house
http://www.tractorsupply.com/pet-car...1-gal--2409488

and this on my dog
http://www.tractorsupply.com/pet-car...24-oz--2404488

as well as his regular dose of frontline.

if he has fleas bad.

id recommend
using these throughout your house,
http://www.tractorsupply.com/pet-car...oz-ea--2404284

wash your dog, spray your dog down with the flea stuff, give it a few hours, and take your dog out for a few hours while your bombing your house.

Your dog probably is not getting the full dose of frontline because of the thick fur...shave a small patch on the back of it's neck and make sure to rub the whole bottle on it's skin.

My friends dog has thick fur and if he does not shave a spot half of the frontline gets stuck in the dogs hair.

Have you thought about bombing your house? I know you've thought about blowing it up, but I'm talking about flea bombs.

Agree. If your dog has them bad then you house does or will soon. Get some white knee high socks and walk around your house, if you see fleas all over the socks then you need to "flea" bomb your house!!!!!!

from what i understand you just have to let them run there cycle.

my dog is on front line, get flea baths....... she got fleas in the spring and we were bombing our house about every 4 days and even went as far as getting our yard sprayed multiple times. Finally called the vet and they told us just to be patient and deal with the little bastards. it took like 6 weeks and it sucked.

i was told by mrgreen a old trick his mom uses is to put a pot of water in your house half full of water and shine a light in there. they get in but cant get back out.

Vacuum Vacuum Vacuum!
Putting frontline on the dog and then exposing it to MORE pesticides is DANGEROUS to the dog.
...the same way repeated use of flea bombs and sprays is dangerous to you.
This kind of pesticide use caused our lab to have seziures.
My suggestion(via our vet) is religious vacuuming, throw the vacuum bag away after EVERY use.
You will need to vacuum floors, baseboards curtains(if they touch or are near the floor) and ALL your furniture... under the coushions too.
Also, the vet can give your dog a pill (one pill) that will kill all the fleas on it within 24 hours.
Good luck!

I dont use frontline, but some of the treatments just keep them from reproducing. Our dog got them this year for the first time I was pissed because I spend a fortune on heart worm that does fleas, ticks, and mosquitos as well...low and behold it is just flea birth control. I used 20 mule team spread all over everything in the house, 6 bug bombs and a weekend at the Blue Chip. When we came home the 20 mule team looked like it had pepper spread on it...I vaccuumed it up and have not had any problems since. If only that shit worked for retard neighbor kids and gettoh monkeys.
