Default towing my 87 dodge raider

i am about to buy a 87 dodge raider v6 5 speed with a broken timing belt. ( don't worry the engine isn't shot, it is a non interference engine)

but my issue is that i have to tow the damn thing 166 miles back home.
what i need to know is, how do i tow it. the 4wd shifter has a neutral.. so wouldn't that mean it is tow-able on a car dolly? i would just throw it in both tranny and 4wd into neutral and head home?

i was also told to be safe i would just put the front tires on the dolly and remove the rear drive line completely and it would not do a damn thing wrong to it. that seems to be the safest way but it is just a little extra work to be done.

but what i am getting at is, i need wisdom on how to tow it.

also it needs tires and rims can any one help me with what other tires from other rigs will fit and work.

please and thank you

If you have a dolly, I'd just un hook the rear driveshaft.

alright yeah that is what i was thinking but i was just kinda hoping there was a easier way to do it.

ok so now the question is how do i take it out. i was told there is 4 bolts on both ends and the one in the tranny or transfer case or what ever kind just slips out but the other end is different.

so how do you take a drive line out? also its probably a really stupid question but is there like oil that is going to spill out when i take out the drive line. i ask because i have never tweaked with a drive line before.

Yes fluid will come out of the trans if u take the yoke I believe out of the back of the trans unbolt the drive shaft from both ends racht strap the yoke so it stays in the trans and won't come out push on car dolly strap down drive 166 miles and enjoy your new 87 dodge
